SERVICES

We help clients WITH THE following:

CHANGE AND TRANSFORMATION

We have been involved in multi-year change programmes and have witnessed first-hand the challenges these can bring; with effective planning, objective setting, stakeholder management and communication strategies we can help set you up for success and plan for the risks associated with short to long term change.

OPERATIONAL RESILIENCE

We deliver all aspects of a successful Operational Resilience capability from setting up governance structures, identifying Important Business Services, setting Impact Tolerance, Mapping, assessing vulnerabilities, response plan building, scenario testing and assurance. Where necessary, we help with all aspects of regulatory change in this area.

BUSINESS CONTINUITY AND CRISIS MANAGEMENT

We deliver all aspects of successful Business Continuity and Crisis Management capabilities and ensure organisations are left in a position to prepare for and respond to major disruptions. Our approach aligns with our Operational Resilience services and the current regulations our clients are faced with.

SCENARIO TESTING

Our aim is to help firms deliver more scenario tests, to more people with greater consistency whilst providing a higher level of challenge to participants. Based on your existing maturity, we design, deliver, and report on a range of different scenarios that will impact your business and help to build the skills of your response teams, validate plans and set response strategies for the future.

ASSURANCE AND MATURITY ASSESSMENTS

We lead assurance reviews against several standards and will focus on what's proportionate to your organisation; this means each review will be tailored and any remediation will focus on what is achievable given the resources you have at your disposal.

TRAINING AND AWARENESS

We have always been passionate about building the skills of colleagues, clients and peers. We will work with you to identify what you need and how it could then be delivered given the existing culture and familiar forms of training. We deliver 1-2-1 or team training programmes at strategic and operational levels.

OUR WORK

CASE STUDIES

ROLE:
Strategic Advisor and Change Lead
CHALLENGE:

The British Red Cross were looking to integrate two critical, competing services across the UK. A project had already started but it lacked momentum and strategic direction.
ACTIVITIES:
Reporting into the Senior Director of Health and Crisis Response, I worked with service leaders to launch a pilot in Scotland. To integrate the two services, I helped to set standards, complete process improvement workshops, manage change across the competing services, lead and project manage workstreams, complete training needs, design communication and marketing strategies and set approaches for stakeholder engagement.
OUTCOME:
We were able to build the momentum that was lacking and brought two competing services together quickly, building trust amongst colleagues who had not worked together previously, leaving them in a position to launch the Pilot and go to market as a combined entity.

ROLE: Resilience Lead
CHALLENGE:

For a period of 6 months, Marsh McClennan required senior level subject matter expertise to lead and deliver a number of high value client engagements across the retail, finance and energy sectors.
ACTIVITIES:

We supported the Resilience Practice Lead to enhance their go to market strategy for a range of consulting services relating to Business Continuity, Operational Resilience and Crisis Management. Projects focused on meeting regulatory requirements, specifically Mapping, IBS Recovery Plans, Scenario Exercise scoping and development.

In addition to the leadership roles, we helped train junior colleagues in new approaches to Operational Resilience activities (including mapping and scenario exercise development) to support the Practice Lead.

OUTCOME:

Marsh were able to successfully deliver a number of engagements with the additional subject matter expertise; this helped to sustain relationships with key clients, train junior members of the team and create additional opportunities for further engagements.

ROLE: Disaster Recovery Lead
CHALLENGE:

Shooting Star were looking to enhance their Disaster Recovery capability and needed to complete a new Disaster Recovery Plan and Scenario Exercise.
ACTIVITIES:

We worked closely with Subject Matter Experts from across the organisation including the CEO, Finance Director, Director of Care, Heads of Department etc. to confirm the contents of a new and improved Disaster Recovery Policy and Plan. We then designed and facilitated a realistic, half day scenario to validate the Plan, rehearse its contents and identify improvements.

OUTCOME:

We delivered a well-structured, easy to follow Plan which was action orientated and allowed individuals to take ownership of their own sections. The scenario exercise provided an opportunity for the team to work together and identify any further improvement in the Plan as well as the wider Risk Management and Disaster Recovery procedures; this has put the response team in a proactive position to respond to future incidents.

ROLE: Resilience Lead

CHALLENGE:

KRisk required additional Crisis Management expertise to deliver a number of different Resilience related projects for their high value clients.
ACTIVITIES:

We led the Crisis Management Module of the UK Finance Operational Resilience Academy to teach leaders on the fundamentals of Crisis Management and how they can enhance their response capability within their organisation.

We were also brought in to design and help deliver three crisis exercises to the executive team of a UK Private Bank. The exercises were designed to challenge the most senior team, focusing on critical decision making, leadership, communications strategies and reputation management. We followed each exercise with a debrief to capture lessons and subsequently wrote a report to guide their remediation activity to enhance their crisis response capability.

OUTCOME:

Feedback from the UK Finance Operational Resilience Academy was very positive. The three exercises were professionally run and provided the senior executive team with challenging scenarios which provoked much needed discussions and decisions around reputation management and how to engage their internal and external stakeholders.

Our report guided their remediation activity which started immediately after the exercises.
